Small Town Xotics Wins Best Recessive Ball Python at the Southeast Reptile Expo

At the recent Southeast Reptile Expo in Atlanta, Small Town Xotics proudly brought home the Best Recessive Ball Python award from the prestigious Reptile Showcase Association (RSA) contest. This milestone not only highlights the quality and dedication behind our breeding projects but also cements our place among some of the top breeders in the industry.

What Is the Reptile Showcase Association?
The RSA is a collaboration between Leviathan Snakes, RGI, MorphMarket, and the Southeast Reptile Expo. Designed to celebrate excellence in reptile breeding, the showcase currently features three competitive categories:

• Best Recessive Ball Python
• Best Non-Recessive Ball Python
• Best Gecko

The judging process combines expert scoring from three judges and a popular vote, ensuring a balanced and community-driven outcome.

Our Winning Snake
Our victory came with a high-intensity Orange Dream, Red Stripe, Yellow Belly/Gravel Crypton — a powerhouse animal in our ongoing Crypton project. What makes this even sweeter? This stunning combo edged out a Pompei combo, one of the industry’s most respected morph combinations, to claim the top spot.
The Crypton project is one of our most exciting focus areas, blending visual appeal with powerful genetic potential. With this recognition, it’s safe to say the Crypton project is one to watch as we continue refining and expanding its possibilities.

Other Winners
A huge congratulations to the other category winners:

• Southern Raised Exotics – Best Gecko with their stunning Sarasinorum.
• Great Balls of Fryer – Best Non-Recessive Ball Python with a jaw-dropping Superstripe Leopard Redhead.

And an extra round of applause to Southern Raised Exotics, who narrowly edged out all category winners to take Best in Show. It was a close contest, with only fractions of points separating the top entries — proof of the incredible talent and animals on display.
